The young driver was pulled over for running a stop sign.
“Why was I pulled over,” puffed out the bewildered driver.
“You ran the stop sign,” said the stoic close to retirement police officer.
“But I slowed down,” chanted the driver. “What’s the difference?”
At which point the morality-based civil servant asked to see the driver’s cell phone.
“I wasn’t on the phone,” shouted the driver in his best ACLU accent.
“I know,” said the cop. “Let me see your phone,”
Pretending there is still right and wrong in society the Officer said:
“I’m going to access your bank account to pay your fine.” At which point the Officer started quickly tapping on the screen. “I’m transferring funds right now to the municipal account,” said the Cop as he continued furiously with his fingertip on the phone.
Several minutes went by.
“Hey, how much are you gunna take?” said the driver.
At which point the Officer lowered the pace at which he was tapping the screen.
Several more minutes went by as transaction after transaction went through cyberspace.
“HEY, c’mon man, STOP!” shouted the money-dwindling car owner.
“Don’t worry sir, I’ve slowed down the money transfer,” said the cop as he continued minute after minute tapping away.
“I want you to stop, not slow down,” cried the clueless driver.
“What’s the difference?”
Replied the cop as he handed the black-screened phone back to the driver.
